What is a Natal Chart?
A birth chart, also called natal chart, explains the positions of the stars at your time of birth in the place you were born in.
Your natal chart is much more detailed and accurate than your horoscope. A popular horoscope considers only the position of the Sun, whereas your natal chart includes hundreds of pieces of data.
The natal chart (birth chart) will show you some very important data which you should never forget.
The Sun sign is the most general information in your horoscope. However you should make special note of your ascendant (Asc), also called rising sign. Never forget your rising sign as it give you more in-depth information about yourself. The Moon sign is also important as it reflects your emotions and intuitive side of your nature. In the Old Astrology, the Moon sign was a lot more important as the more general Sun sign.
A natal chart is comprised of four main components: planets, signs, houses, and aspects. Most of planets, except for the Moon, will be the same no matter what time of day you were born, so for most people, the time of day and location of birth is not so important to figure out the position of the planets. It is the houses that are absolutely dependent on the birth time and place, along with the houses, the various angles of the chart – the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven and IC.
Natal Chart Interpretation
The signs and planets play an important part in the total interpretation of your chart. If you are off only 5 minutes or so, there is likely to be very little significance, but if you are off by an hour or so, the difference can be substantial, so for best accuracy, you need to enter exact time of your birth and place of birth.
What is a Transit Chart?
Transit Chart? Many of us read our daily horoscopes out of curiosity and interest, but there is so much more than Sun sign astrology.
Your astrological horoscope (natal chart) at birth is an important key to your personality and character, but your natal chart is not the last word about you. As time moves on after the moment of your birth, the Sun, Moon, and planets continue to circle through the heavens forming ever-changing kaleidoscopic patterns in relation to your own birth chart, bringing out or obscuring this or that part of you.
At the moment you were born, the planets were in a specific pattern in the heavens. This “freeze-frame” of planetary motion is your birth chart. As the planets continue to move over time, they form mathematical relationships to the planets in your birth chart.
By overlaying the transiting planets onto birth chart, we create a transit chart, which we can use to tell us how cosmic forces are playing out in your life.
Transit Chart Interpretation
Interpreting transits is one of the ancient astrological forecasting methods that can tell you which of your life’s themes are likely to become particularly important at a given time.
For example, transits of fast-moving planets often tell of opportunities, health, moods and states of mind that pass fairly quickly. The slower transits describe cycles of development that take much longer, learning phases, crises, as well as periods of stability and happiness.
Many people believe that astrology can be used to explain personality traits and even predict that person’s future. You can create an astrological chart (transit chart) to help generally predict what could happen to that person in the next day, week, month or even years in advance. Create a chart based on a person’s zodiac sign and astrology chart.
Transit Chart Importance
The transits analysis is a personalized horoscope that gives you an insight into what you may expect from a certain transit.
What is Astrology?
Astrology is as old as measured time. The word Astrology is derived from two Greek words, Astra, a star, and Logos, logic or reason.
It literally implies the doctrine and law as shown by the stars or planets.
For more than 3000 years, people have observed the heavens and assigned meaning to the constellations above. In the beginnings, they thought of the planetary movements as messages from the gods.
There are many misconceptions regarding astrology. For instance, the horoscopes listed in the daily newspapers are only based on the sign position of the Sun, whereas full natal astrology takes many more things into account.
In fact, due to the varying speed of each planet’s orbit around the Sun, a person’s birth chart is not duplicated for more than 25,000 years!
The main concepts to understand in astrology are the Planets, Signs, Houses and the relationships between them, which are called Aspects.
From an astrological point of view, each person’s unique individuality is based on the endless variations of these four components.
We all have tendencies that lead to inappropriate actions and feelings of isolation and unhappiness. The trick is to discover our own “glitches” and empower ourselves to avoid them.
Does a person’s destiny absolutely depend upon the Horoscope?
Absolutely not. Your birth chart (horoscope) is ONLY an influence. And the more self-aware you are and the more you make choices for how you interact within yourself and with your outer life … the less of an influence your chart has on you.
Astrology is best-used as an aid to self-understanding. Not a replacement for self-understanding. Use your chart to ask questions about yourself, and to look within and see if what the chart says is true.
In Western astrology, there is an old saying: “The stars impel. They do not compel.”
Even the Buddhist monks tell us that we can change our karma. Nothing is fated, there is no destiny. Each moment is build on the previous moments, but we have the opportunity to change the direction.
Your chart is a major influence and not a control mechanism.
Destiny or fate is a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the cosmos. Although often used interchangeably, the words “fate” and “destiny” have distinct connotations.
In astrology, it is believed that destiny stems from the strong feelings of our past, thus bringing us full circle back to the question of our fate. Destiny is our final calling to resolve old issues and to complete cycles started long ago.
The differences between your fate and your destiny can only be determined by individual discretion. There is no scientific line to be drawn here.
